Novembergram

November was busy. All the months are so busy and full to bursting but November was especially frantic. I don’t think I use Instagram like a Real Blogger, I use it like a human being, so here’s the busy November through my all seeing eye(phone). High five? Up top anyone? For the whole ‘eyePhone’ thing? Don’t leave me hanging…

Meh, Novembergram.

Top – l to r

  • One time the sky was blue enough to make my little heart happy. #nofilter BUT…
  • I got rained on. A lot. I tried to do too much in November which meant I spent much of the month weeping and getting rained on. It was a good time.
  • Got my hair done in the most instagrammable place known to man. The ‘do looked bodacious for about 3 minutes. See above re rain.

Middle – l to r

  • I found a pile of books and precariously balanced tea on top of them on a Monday morning to take a nice picture for the blog. A dog jumped on me and ruined it.
  • I did yoga (with Adrienne), Betty and her stuffed hotdog were supportive.
  • The sun rose and set many, many times. Here’s my favourite.

Bottom – l to r

  • Stepsie number 1 and I had a date at the rugby. It was cold but marvellous, see how cheery we were. Whilst we’re at Step Momming, stepsie number 2 has had a brilliant week, pride levels are high.
  • I shovelled this whole cupcake into my face but not before taking a picture of it. I did a lot of cupcakes this month in an attempt to avoid all festive treats before 1st December. FYI I firmly believe that starting to wear Santa hats and eat all the mince pies in September somewhat devalues the whole Christmas thing and I refuse to do it. Work buddies have labelled me ‘Scrooge’. Joke’s on them come 1st December – I freaking LOVE Christmas. You’ll see. YOU’LL ALL SEE. Big lolz all round.
  • The sea looked gert lush. It always does though.

And a special bonus round of Pete being a nosy git. What a creep.

Nosy Pete

How was your November? Tell me some stuff.

BEDN 4 Eight Photos Of Happiness

Today’s post fits with the prompt of the day. It’s taken me four days to get here folks but here I am, cooking on gas, following the prompts like a real functioning adult. High five? Anyone? ANYONE?

I spied this tag on the harbinger-of-tag-doom-Kerri’s blog an age ago and liked it. I’ve been biding my time (I saw Spectre at the weekend and am subsequently feeling all spy-ish about things). Watching. Waiting. For the perfect opportunity to crack out my own photos of happiness. That time is now. On this fourth day of blogging every day in November which so far I appear to be semi-nailing: nailing because four days, four posts and semi because of the aforementioned theme deviation.

Enough jibber jabber, here are 8 things that make me happy in photo form.

1) Being beside the seaside makes me happy every single day. It’s the mutts proverbials and you should all move here pronto.

happiness12) These tech addicts, they’re alright they are. But particularly the bald one, I do like the bald one.

happiness23) First breakfast in the new house: Croissants and Construction might be the name of my memoir. Maybe just the chapter for last year.

IMG_10134) My first column. It still delights and confuses me that the words I write, complete with over use of parentheses and hyphens and the word vagina, are printed in the actual paper. And *awkward cough* that I won a sexy little award for it this year.

IMG_2772[1]5) Dogs make me the most happy. Both regular and hot.

happiness36) Books in the sunshine are good for my soul. And an abundance of tea in an M mug for all the happiness. And also because I do blogging an initial mug is the law innit?

IMG_48027) This reminder that I have a real live grown up career. That I was brave enough to leap into it from something totally different and I’m doing a-ok at it. And I’m wearing a suit. A SUIT.

IMG_1230

8) And this photo of all photos which fulfils the triple purpose of being my favourite photo of all time (it never ever fails to make me smile), capturing a magnificent pooch photobomb and showing some of my favourite wedding snaps.

IMG_2658

And that is my 8 happy things…in roughly four hundred and forty three photos. Which feels like a cheat. What makes you happy? You can tell me below but better still show me a photo, you can do that in Disqus, why don’t more people do that??

Saturday Snapshot Nineteen

DSC_0072

No clouds, no coats, just a beautiful warm, sunshiny, not at all autumish day. A day on which there’s  not a single place on earth I’d rather be than beside the sea with this beauty (and some humans obvs, I’m not a crazy dog lady…yet).

A very good Saturday to you.

*Tips hat*

And That Was August

Now that September is here and people are wailing and throwing themselves roughly to the floor and counting down to Christmas (NB if you say the C word to me any time before November 30th I will have to pound on you a little), it’s as good a time as any to look back at August through the equally pithy mediums of little photos and little letters.

March Insta

Dear The Walking Dead, I love you a little but when I’ve watched you in bed at night and allowed the dogs to sleep up there with me because the husband is away and one of the dogs has a growly dream? That shit is NOT cool.

Dear K, eating roast chicken and watching Cinderella with you on a rainy August Sunday afternoon was swell. Let’s do that more.

Dear Devon, you are just B-E-A-Utiful. Always.

Dear scary recurring childhood dream in which I’m being chased by a terrifying old cartoon witch, why did you rear your head this week? What’s that all about? I’ve enjoyed not seeing you for 25 years, be gone please and thank you.

Dear curry that I scoffed whilst home alone, you were my absolute favourite. The joy of cramming a full garlic naan into my face without the husband sitting horrified by my side was beyond compare and I’m very grateful to you.

Dear husband, you were missed this weekend. Except for the curry time.

Dear my own little brain (mistyped that as ‘Brian’, I confirm that I am not in possession of a wee fellow called Brian), sometimes it’s ok for you to just switch off and relax. Take a load off. You don’t have to think all of the things all of the time.

And some favourites from Blogland this month:

Kerri made her first (maybe only ever) YouTube video. She’s swell, it’s swell. Go watch it.

Baker turned three. Danielle and Baker are our definite doggy best friends.

Tasha took yet more lovely photos of everything.

Katy’s plotting her rebrand.

Michelle looked fabulous. Repeatedly.

Saskia confessed that she doesn’t like toast…but was forgiven by making this beaut.

How was your August?

Saturday Snapshot Eighteen

Snapshot EighteenI do know how beautiful my home town is. I try very hard most days not to be a smug so and so about it. Today I’m failing just a hundred percent.

Seriously though, have you ever seen a sky more blue? A richer, darker sea? A Mr Whippy licked into such perfect non-drip territory? I scoffed this Mr Whippy by the sea whilst catching up with a very lovely friend I haven’t seen in far too long. Today has been a goooood day.

We also made our third video offering. Three is a habit, three kills makes a serial. Yeesh.
